“ Love this place, drove in from Bakersfield just to eat here and it was so worth it.There are no German restaurants in our area and we took a chance on this place and will so do it again!! Had the potato pancakes and sausage sampler for app.My husband had the veal jaeger schnitzel I had the chicken pretzel schnitzel...yum.Almost licked the plate!looking forward to trying everything on the menu. Our waiter was great and knew his dishes. ”
“ Stopped by this inviting and authentic German restaurant around 9 and got seated right away. Coming from a family of Germans and Swedes I’m very familiar with the dishes served here and they were great. Although I usually like it traditional style, the schnitzel florentine they have for schnitzel month was fun. The spetzle and potato salad were both great sides you can’t go wrong with. Somebody in my group who is vegetarian ordered their vegan wurst and thought it was tasty as well. We split the dude fries but I would honestly opt for something like the pretzel next time. Unfortunately the back patio was closed due to weather but the atmosphere is soft lighting and feels more pub style up front which I have no complaints. Worth stopping by ”
“ Ordered the Wiener Schnitzel with sides of Sauerkraut and Homemade Spaetzle as well as a Paulaner Salvator beer. Also ordered a Bavarian Pretzel and Spicy Brussel Sprouts. The Wiener Schnitzel is breaded and sauteed protein (chose pork) plus the sides. The pork had a crispy exterior breading and the flattened pork inside was nicely done, very easy to cut and chew. The portion was a decent amount and the lemon wedge added a sprightly flavor. If you’re a big fan of sauerkraut, the portion is quite big, a touch saltier and more sour than expected. If you want something lighter, the red sauerkraut is a more balanced option, less sour, a bit sweet. The Homemade Spaetzle was a soft and chewy noodle that paired well with the schnitzel. The Paulaner Salvator was one of the recommended drinks on the darker side and this indeed was a good choice. The Bavarian Pretzel comes with two sauces, a homemade obatzda (cheese) and sweet mustard. The pretzel bread is soft but firm to tear apart, best eaten fresh and is a very aromatic bread. This goes well with both sauces. The Spicy Brussel Sprouts are crispy fried brussels with parmigiano romano and creole remoulade. These brussel sprouts were very dense but thoroughly seasoned inside each bite and had a very light spice kick. I was able to sample a few other main courses and overall find them great options whichever you choose. This place is quite busy during the dinner rush but getting a table was not too difficult. The service is very quick, patient, and courteous. The interior ambiance has plenty of Germanic decor from mugs, to the rasselbock, and the countryside mural. There is front patio seating, interior seating, as well as seating in the far back. Parking in this area can get difficult and is mostly metered street parking. ”
“ This place is incredible. We are huge fans of Wirtshaus and the owners opened this place a lot closer to us. Start with a pretzel and a beer, and of course follow up with the schnitzel and/or sausage. I have so much fun every time I go here and my stomach always leaves happy. Don't forget to buy a shirt before you leave! Best addition to my wardrobe ever. Wish I could go here every day. ”
“ Good food, not heavy. Schnitzel was breaded and fried but not at all greasy, exactly as it should be. Appetizers, sides and desserts were equally carefully prepared. Wed night trivia is a lot of fun, friendly crowd. ”
“ I lived in Germany for 3 years and this food was better than some of the food I ate in Germany. I was so impressed by the authentic menu and the delicious food. Will be coming back many times! ”
“ I thoroughly enjoyed Rasselbock Kitchen and Beer Garden for its authentic German dishes and a large selection of German beers - many on tap. Rasselbock comes from German folklore - a mythical creature depicted as a rabbit sporting a nice rack of horns (similar to the American Jackalope.) Their veal Jagerschnitzel paired with house-made spatzle and cucumber salad was superb, taking me back to my time in Germany. The homemade apple strudel is a must-have—make sure to save space for it. I’ll be back to try some of their other German favorites the next time my travels take me out to Los Angeles. ”
“ I think this place actually had better schnitzel and sausage than what I had in Germany!!! Food is great and the atmosphere is great too. It can be a great hang out place for friends and it can also be a great dating spot. Good for meals. Great for drinks. ”
